Salon Review: Paradise Nails

So... Finally I'm well enough to blog about this nail place.

So me and my friend went to this nail place Paradise Nails since we had no time to wait at Miniluxe [awesome place].
The place is own by a husband and wife on a second floor apartment. I believe that the person who did my nails did a decent job. As I'm a manicurist I've noticed ALOT of flaws in the "salon":

For one the place was way to small and there were no vents to distribute CLEAN air. Therefore I became sick because of the fumes in the "salon" and the windows weren't open at all so it was just lingering in the air. Also the nail polishes weren't standing some were just laid down on it's side like it's chilling. The utensils weren't sterile so that got me on edge even more. Many should know that each customer should have individual nail filer and buffers. [For example mini luxe gives you mini ones =D] But the metal utensils weren't sterile and it made me very cautious since the person who did my nails pushed my cuticle back and it hurt more than it suppose to.

Another flaw was that the nail polish was left on my cuticle [BAD] while he was cleaning of my old polish. When he applied top coat the top coat was also on my cuticles. Although nail polishes on cuticle peels off during hot showers it's very bad. The chemicals inside the nail polish getting into your cuticle [EW!]and your cuts which will cause and infection. Even when the nail polish on the cuticle peels off that's also the reason why your polish on you nail chip off faster. Nail manicurist should ALWAYS take a bamboo stick that has a flat end with cotton on it dip into acetone [nail polish remover] and clean the polish that is on the skin. There fore the result will come to clean neat and not hazardous to clients.

The polishes, some are dry, some are ALMOST gone, and were diluted because it hasn't been use for along time. There weren't as many colors as i expected they would have. But as long as they have red it's find by me.

The price was fair. Manicure was $12 I believe. For a mani-pedi it is around $32 I believe. But it was so confusing finding the place since it's on the 2nd floor of an apartment. Not only that you have to ring the doorbell to go up. The hall ways and stair ways are very narrow so be VERY cautious especially when you're walking in heels.

~ Other than that it was a very decent visit to the salon. I wish the manicurist cut my hang nails. Even Miniluxe didn't do that for me I get pissed because I paid for good service.

My Birthday =)

Today is/was my 19th birthday =)

So... Yesterday (11/13/10) I had a mini party only 3 people came. Excluding my boyfriend. Jivani, Thu, and Rachel came. We all went to Ihop after playing Call of Duty: Black Ops. [Yes I play wanna fight about it?] After Ihop they left. Me and my boyfriend decided to rent some movies.. So we rented Scott Pilgrim VS The World, Killers, and Jonah Hex. THOSE ARE THE GREATEST MOVIE for one night with chips and dips =D

Today (11/14/10) is my REAL birthday =) Had a shitty morning but it was ALL good, Hannie [bubble butt] taught me how to drive =D then went out with phi phi for TGI Fridays. An awesome day it was ^.^ I didn't have a care in the world about people needing to be entertained or happy. [I used to plan my own parties so shit happens] Then one I got home my mom came home shortly with a cake.. White chocolate Mousse Cake.. to be exact. It's so yummy she also bought KFC =D *even more yums* then she gave me presents...

My Weekend Shopping Spree

Friday:

Ann signed us up for an organic facial that was produced by the company Super by Dr. Nicholas Perricone on Friday. I must say the stuff WORKS WONDERS!!! and I PERSONALLY LOVE IT. They did a half face treatment so I can compare with the "untouched" skin I was happy my face was literally brighter than the "untouched" side.

Green Box: Acne Treatment w/ Green Apple Quercetin

USE: For the treatment of acne. Helps clear up acne breakouts. Penetrates pores to control acne. Helps prevent new acne blemishes.

EXFOLIATE, BRIGHTENS, BALANCES.

-- OKAY! lol.. So this products smells SOO!!! good!!!! Literally it wont smell crappy that is my HONEST opinion I swear! It smells like green apples freshly cut into. The box was made from 80% of post consumer recycled paper. This product does NOT have - Parabens, Silicones, Mineral Oil, Phthalates, Synthetic Colors, Synthetic Fragrance, Animal By-Products.
MOST IMPORTANTLY THIS PRODUCTS WAS NEVER TESTED ON ANIMALS.

Purple Box: Face&Eye Cleanser w/ Acai Anthocyanins

APPLICATION: Feed your face, Morning and Evening.
Back of Box Info: Raspberries are red, Acai berries are blue, and Anthocyanins are the sweet antioxidants that give them such a rich hues. But don't let their prettiness fool you. Anthocyanins capture renegade radicals, protect, and defend. Strong but sweet? YES, please!

PURIFIES, HYDRATES, SOOTHES

-- So I love this product bought it with pleasure. The smell isn't all that yummers to my tummers but it's a very good product to be using. When the beautician was applying it on the half of my face it was soothing and really relaxing once she clean it off i compared it to my "untouched" face and viola so bright and clean. It's lovely. This is my birthday present from Sephora.

So After Sephora we went to Coach [fave store] I bought this really cute card holder.

It's a line off of coach call "Poppy" It's red and the designs are golden. my boyfriend said it looks like  a li xi it must mean I'm lucky to get it =) They also gave me and Ann the sample of a coach perfume. The lady was SUPER nice to us and helped us out a lot. Thanks to Ann for choosing my color because she knows me so well <3

So it was worth the price. Me and Kyo had fun hanging with Phi and Hannie.. The guys had their time and us girls had our time =)

Afterward we went to eat at the cheesecake factory so much fun I swear it's the best date we had in ALONG time. But after that we went to gamestop. While Kyo was looking at games at gamestop for me I stopped by Sephora to pick up a few more things.

I also bought a box of chocolate desert for us to munch on while playing games.
Not only that but of ALL days my computer table broke so I got a new one from walmart. The game that we got was heavy rain and i pre-ordered Assasin's creed Brotherhood =)

Keep your face CLEAN!

So let's talk about cleanliness to the face to improve it to near perfection.

So lately I've been breaking out. Why? you make ask...

Old make-up proximately over a year old.

Old make-up should be thrown out between 3-6 months ESPECIALLY liquid make up and eye pencils or liquid liners

Once you open liquid from the first time you buy it bacteria will start to get into it than months later there will be a really distinct smell [really bad odor]

Only does it not HARM your face it makes you produce even more acne, red bumps, irritation, inflammation, and infections will start.

What kind of infection you make ask?

Well for one; using eye pencil, liquid liners, and liquid foundation - you will end up with an eye infection call conjunctivitis or pink - eyes. 

Another if you aren't convince; 

MRSA - Yes it can happen to ANYONE and it's infectious like a zombie apocalypse. 

Prevention to all of this; 

- Be Clean

- Always Clean your brush after EVERY use

- Wash your face or use face wipes before sleeping (DON'T EVER SLEEP WITH MAKEUP ON)

- Throw liquid make up away after 3-6 months

   ~ Liquid make up includes; Foundation, Eye liners, mascara, cream based make up products.

   ~ I would recommend that you squeeze the foundation and any other liquid make up onto your hand to use a brush instead of just putting the make up right onto your face with the brush that contacted the liquid make up. Of course the liquid liners you can use the brush.

- Powder should never be use over 1 year [even if there are left]

Products I've use to prevent:

-- So Lancome Creme Radiance [$30] and Neutrogena wave [$30]

~ I use these products either together or separate. I wash my face in the morning BEFORE applying makeup on. I would lather the Lancome Creme Radiance into my face then use the Wave to finish the rest. I works really well I'd use this method every 2 days. Afterward apply a toner.

- Lancome Tonique Radiance

~ This is the toner that I use. It's for mixed skin [oily&dry] Toner are for after after you wash your face with the face cleanser. It would take the dirt and oil that is left over that the cleanser haven't picked up.

-- Sephora Make up Face wipes [$15]

~ It's well worth the money. It's for when you come home late and are too tired to go to the bathroom and clean your face. Use this wipes to take your make up off. If you were to elave make up on all night I hope you love visitors that next morning [break outs]. Then apply toner.

- Brush Cleanser [It varies by products]

~ ALWAYS, ALWAYS clean your brushes so they are fresh for applying new makeup. Why must you clean your brushes? You don't want bacteria and oil from the day before BACK on our face right? Plus it sits there on your desk and collects the dirt and dust. Now you don't want that on your freshly cleaned face right?

Take these precaution and tips and your face will still be near to perfection =)

Even though make-ups don't have expiration date. You HAVE to throw them out even when it's expensive. I know it hurts =/ but you have to it's your health on the line. Not only that your skin will break out even more and not all of the skin care around the world could help you after.
